US Formula 1 Track Construction Begins

The Austin American-Statesman has some good coverage this morning of the start this week of construction on the F1 track for the 2012 US Grand Prix. The construction management firm was selected earlier this month, and the architects for the grandstands etc. were chosen as well. Earth is moving as shown in some video footage (which also gives an idea of part of the topography). The race is on to be done by June 2012 (the presumed date to line up with Montreal's traditional timing).
