Mom Needs A New Car

Late last week, my younger brother was driving my mom's 2009 Subaru Forester, when he was involved in an accident. I won't go into details, as insurance still hasn't figured out what to do, but it looks to be totaled. Thankfully, all involved, including my brother, are fine . However, my family is now short a vehicle, which is why I'm turning to you, loyal forum members. My mom obviously still needs something to get around in. So being her car-savvy son, I've set forth a few guidelines (with her help of course), as to what she should look at next. The requirements are as follows: Must be a new vehicle from a dealership (my family has had bad luck when it comes to used cars) Brand isn't terribly important Must seat four adults comfortably Nothing overly pricey She wants all-wheel drive, I told her front-wheel drive with snow tires is better. Regardless, no rear-drivers allowed, as this is Michigan, and it snows (a lot). Good fuel economy is a plus (able to average 25 to 35 miles per gallon) No manual gearboxes (Non-negotiable) She's already driven the Buick Regal (her suggestion) and a VW Golf TDI (my suggestion). If anyone else has any suggestions, feel free to post them, and I'll report back after we've test driven them.
