All road racing sanctioning bodies require you wear a head and neck restraint. There are many options available, depending on your need and application. In today’s race gear review, Juliann Pokorny of Winding Road Racing talks about one of our favorite head and neck restraints: Schroth SHR Flex.

To recap the benefits of the SHR Flex:

  • SFI 38.1 Certified
  • Flexibility: with its flexible leg design, the SHR Flex can be conformed to different body sizes and types.
  • Different layback angles: the low-collar design works with any seating angle, making it a great choice for racers who have multiple race cars.
  • Slip-stop: this grip padding surface keeps the device in place, giving racers an extremely planted feel.
  • The SHR Flex can be used with a 2-inch or 3-inch belt.
  • Constructed with high retention winglets which are helpful in secondary impacts.
  • Sliding "twist anchor" tether system which allows for head movement and comfort.

The Schroth SHR Flex head and neck restraint is available on WindingRoadRacing.com or at any of our four locations nationwide.
