Film Lookbook: The Art Of Racing In The Rain

Lifestyle, Reviews I By Peter Nelson I January 02, 2020

It’s not too often we get to see motorsports as a major part of the plot in film these days, but after tons of anticipation, the best-selling book The Art of Racing in the Rain debuted as a comedy-drama in theaters back in August 2019. Starring Milo Ventimiglia, Amanda Seyfried, and Kevin Costner providing the voice for Enzo the dog, it’s a great adaptation that guarantees some good realism in all things modern American sports car racing, as well as some tears running down the cheeks of racers all over the world.

Recently while watching the film, we got to thinking: there are a lot of products on display at the racetrack that we are quite familiar with here at Winding Road! Below are some screen grabs from the film that include these products, as well as some links to where in our store folks can find them.

20th Century Fox

Check out that Sparco Shield RW-9 Nomex Underwear Shirt that the main character, Denny, is wearing while navigating through the paddock.

20th Century Fox

In this shot while piloting a Turner BMW M3, it looks like Denny is sporting a Bell M.8, Composite or Carbon (though for the sake of realism, this helmet is not FIA 8860 as required by IMSA rules), Sparco Arrow gloves, and the harnesses could very well be Schroth Flexi 2×2s.

20th Century Fox

This pit crew member looks to be wearing a Bell Sport EV in flat black.

Towards the end of the film, Denny goes for a spin in a Ferrari 488 while sporting a Sparco Eagle RS-8.2 suit, and Sparco Slalom RB-3 shoes.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions about the products mentioned above.
