BMW M Coupe -- Which Is Best?

I can get a 2006-2007 Z4 M Coupe or a 2000-2003 M Coupe for basically the same money and roughly the same miles. I'm impressed with the value that the older car holds, but wonder if that's because the made so few or because it really was a good car? Anyway, which do you think is better?
