WR TV: 2015 Subaru WRX STI

We enjoyed our drive of the new STI-flavored WRX on and around Laguna Seca back in February so much that we just couldn’t keep ourselves away from the rally-bred bruiser. This time we got a chance to capture the road manners of the STI around the streets of Los Angeles and on the twisty roads of the Angeles National Forest. 

 

With the 2.5-liter turbocharged four cylinder motor outputting 305 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque, and a six speed manual gearbox fitted with some very quick ratios, the new STI feels quicker than its numbers suggest. Crucially, with an entirely new and far stiffer chassis, a quicker hydraulically-assisted steering rack, and a heavily revised suspension, the STi also has the handling prowess to match its thrust.
