Final Mitsubishi Evo X Special Edition Arriving Next Summer

During a recent online Q & A session with Don Swearingen, executive vice president at Mitsubishi Motors North America, Swearingen confirmed that a US-exclusive final edition of the sport sedan is on its way next June.

With regard to the possibility of an Evo XI, the Mitsubishi VP stated there are “currently no plans for an Evo XI”, which echoes Swearingen’s statement to Motor Trend at the LA Auto Show in which he said the Evo’s “time has come and gone.” Regardless, the Evo will not go quietly into the night, as he also confirmed the imminent arrival of an Evo X Special Action Model.

The Special Action Model will be a GSR with a five-speed gearbox, along with “more horsepower, some suspension tuning, and some bits pieces that are still being finalized.” 2000 examples of the Special Action Model will be produced, and are set to go on sale in the US next June.
