Mercedes AMG Petronas has posted a video showing off the sound of the new engine for its 2104 Formula 1 race car. Here, we go for a virtual lap around Monza with the new 1.6-liter turbocharged V-6 motor on full song.
The comments are showing mixed reviews for the soundtrack, but internet commentary often skews toward the negative. We’d wager a lot more people are actually excited about the new performance technology, who simply aren’t keen on opening themselves up to a YouTube flame war.
Then there’s this tidbit, a response from Mercedes AMG Petronas to a person guessing a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour (155 mph? Really?) for the 2014 Formula 1 car:

, we recommend a good set of headphones to get the true sound.)
