Mercedes-Benz Bringing SLS AMG GT Final Editon To Los Angeles Auto Show
It’s with a heavy heart that we report that
SLS AMG‘s days are numbered, despite having only been on sale here in the US since 2010. However, Mercedes-Benz plans to give the coupe a proper swansong in the form of the limited-run SLS AMG GT Final Edition, which is set to debut next week at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Expect some tweaks to the SLS AMG’s legendary 6.2 liter V8, which churns out 583 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque in the standard SLS. If the above photo is any indication, more aggressive bodywork and perhaps a carbon fiber hood appear to be in the cards, and we wouldn’t be surprised to find a few interior enhancements as well.
If you’re looking to get into an SLS, Mercedes is quick to remind buyers that time is not on their side:
"The SLS AMG GT FINAL EDITION brings an impressive era to an end. The FINAL EDITION model, built in a limited run of just 350 units, represents the last opportunity for customers to order a SLS AMG – while at the same time reflecting the unrivalled success story and unique scope offered by the first vehicle to be completely built by Mercedes-AMG."
We’ll find out more when the car hits the stage next week.
