The organizers of the North American Car And Truck Of The Year Awards have announced the three finalists for each category. The winners will be announced in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
In the running for North American Car Of They Year are the Chevrolet Volt, the Nissan Leaf, and the Hyundai Sonata (including 2.0T and Hybrids variants).
For North American Truck Of The Year, the three finalists are the Dodge Durango, Ford Explorer, and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
49 automotive journalists voted from a total of 14 cars and 14 trucks. The same jurors will now vote from the three finalists in each category, and the winners will be announced on January 10.
Last year, Ford swept the competition with the Fusion Hybrid winning North American Car Of The Year, and the Transit Connect winning North American Truck Of The Year.
We’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear who 2011’s winners are next month.
