WRR TV: 2001 Subaru Impreza WRX UK300 by Prodrive

Cars, Reviews I By Winding Road Staff I July 24, 2014
As a joint project between Subaru engineers and the rally-bred mad scientists at Prodrive, the UK300 was created to celebrate the rally success the Impreza had found in the UK over the previous years, and featured styling work carried out by Peter Stevens who designed the famous McLaren F1 and Subaru WRC rally car. The "300" denotes the total number of units produced.

Earlier this year we got a chance to hang out with the crew from Prodrive, and along with the Impreza P1 Rally Car we looked at back in May, we got up close and personal with the UK300. The UK300 received aerodynamic aids to help reduce high-speed lift and enhance its handling abilities, while the interior featured blue suede-effect seats and matching door inserts. The UK300 also enjoyed improved power over the stock Impreza WRX by way of the Prodrive WR Sport package, which boosted the Impreza’s output via an upgraded ECU to 245 horsepower, up from 218. This particular model sees a few more Prodrive enhancements beyond its original configuration that find it riding the line between street car and rally car even closer than it had originally.

Let’s check out some of the finer details of the UK300:
