Spec Miata: Take A Ride In The Class You (Probably) Should Run

By Winding Road Staff

May 16, 2014

If you are considering getting into road racing, someone has probably advised that you to run Spec Miata (and if you haven't heard that, you probably need different advisors). From the affordable car, relatively low run costs, ability to run with both SCCA and NASA to the close competition, Spec Miata is great for new drivers and those wanting to refine their well-developed skills. If you are unsure what the fuss is about, here is a video that illustrates the Spec Miata experience. This video, from the May 2014 SCCA Spec Miata races at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in Illinois, brings you the opening laps of the Saturday race. You'll see typical SM traffic at the start in which WRR car #64 backs up (he should have been in tighter formation before the start) and then makes a nice comeback.
If you are interested in running Spec Miata in Texas or California, contact our Competition Services Department about rentals and arrive & drive programs.
