A new AMG is usually a pretty big deal. A new AMG that costs less than $50,000, on the other hand, is a huge, stop-the-presses deal. That’s sort of the way we’ve been treating our coverage of the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG.
With 355 horsepower, 326 pound-feet of torque, a 4Matic all-wheel-drive system, and a slick seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, it should deliver just the sort of performance demanded by the AMG badge. Moreover, it should be loaded with the kind of technology that’s been a defining characteristic of all AMG products. AMG’s are fast, but there’s a great deal than just a big engine under the hood.
To give us an idea of just what’s gone in to the new CLA45 AMG, Mercedes has produced this short, four-minute video that’s narrated by one of the brand’s product managers. It covers everything from the CLA’s throaty engine and the sound that comes out of it, to the brakes, suspension, and gearbox.
