Track Guide: Road America

By Winding Road Staff

April 19, 2013

Road America, located in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, is a favorite of many drivers. It’s a long circuit, at four miles, with some fast straights, technical turns, and lots of elevation changes. If you’ve driven it, you’re familiar with the infamous “Kink” turn, and you know to keep an eye out for deer. Here, we will add helpful videos, data, and links as we come across them. We are beginning to add more tracks to our list of Track Guides, too.
Distance: 4.084 miles
Turns: 14
Track Record: 1:39.866 / 145.924 mph — Dario Franchitti, 2000 Team Kool Green Honda Reynard, CART Championship Race
We suggest you start with this track guide from Trackpedia or this one from Hub Garage, along with the guided lap video below. BadgerBimmers also offers a nice visual guide, here (PDF). You can also get to know Road America pretty well with simulators, such as iRacing.
