The Thrill Of The Pass: From 7th To 1st In Two Laps

Features, Racing I By Winding Road Staff I August 31, 2016

Winding Road Team TFB driver Mark Drennan shows how simple it can look to go from P7 on the grid to P1 by the beginning of lap 3. But simple execution comes from practice and preparation: see Mark’s article on the "Grandmaster" passing strategy for additional ideas about how to set up these passes. And, after making passes like this, do not copy Mark’s missed shift coming out of T4 — apologies to fellow MX-5 Cup driver Nick Bruni who damaged his car when Mark got first gear instead of third.
