Jaguar Launching New Historic Racing Series

News, Racing I By Winding Road Staff I November 14, 2014
Jaguar has announced that it will be creating its own one-make series for vehicles made by the British automaker before 1966. Accordingly, the 2015 Jaguar Heritage Challenge will offer entry to C-Types, D-Types, E-Types and Mk I and MkII sedans of said vintage. The series builds upon the success of the Jaguar E-Type Challenge and will be administered by the Silverstone-based Historic Sports Car Club.

The Jaguar Heritage Challenge includes four races to be held at UK venues and another race to be held elsewhere in Europe. Derek Weale, Jaguar Land Rover Heritage Business Director, had this to say about the new series:

"Jaguar has established a strong presence in renowned heritage car celebrations including the Mille Miglia and Goodwood Revival in recent times. A single-marque race series will be an exciting addition to our plans for next year, and I look forward to meeting privateer teams that want to race Jaguar heritage sports and saloon cars in 2015."

The confirmed dates, classes and race venues are expected to be announced shortly. Check out the press release below for additional details.
