Blog: I’m Writing This From The Back Seat Of The Audi A7

I guess it shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise, after all, I can now wirelessly connect to the internet from the park down the street from my office, on a bus ride across the country, or from my cramped seat 30,000 feet above sea level. Why not the back seat of an Audi?
We’ve just taken delivery of a 2012 Audi A7, which is equipped with the Audi Connect wireless system. The system allows us to basically use any wireless device—in this case my laptop—to connect to the car’s own signal. That means that right now, as Fleet Manager Turkus squires Snyder and myself to Ann Arbor’s Big Ten Burrito for lunch, I’m able to word process, upload a photo (that I downloaed from my phone to my laptop first), and then publish this very piece to WindingRoad.com. Thanks for that, The Future.
Stay tuned for a little more of this geeky geeking out later in the week. I’ll be taking the A7 on a road trip to New Orleans on Thursday, occasionally letting trusted friend of WR, Molly McFarland, take the reigns of the A7 while I live blog, talk to the kids on Facebook, answer questions, and write good stuff about traveling. Stay tuned.
